WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY?

A more intimate interpretation of traditional portrait photography, boudoir photography celebrates the fine art of being a woman More than a trend and more than just typical snapshots  of women in lingerie, boudoir is an uplifting, empowering experience.

We are constantly comparing ourselves to other women, picking ourselves a part- focusing on every little flaw we want  to change about our bodies in order to live up to impossible beauty standards.  This does not lead to happiness no matter what you choose to do. Rather, this kind of negative thinking discourages self-love.

We need to learn to love and embrace our unique, individual bodies with our bodies by accepting and loving all of our imperfections. Imperfections, after all, are beautiful.

As a photographer, and more importantly, as a woman, my goal is to destroy insecurity and self-esteem issues using my artistic ability. boudoir photography has the power to uplift and rejuvenate!! It is so much more than a photo shoot - it is an experience!

I love making women feel like the true Goddess that they are!  It is extremely important to me to build every woman up - together we are stronger and fierce!

Don't let the name intimidate you or make you second guess your decision to do a empowering photo shoot!

Don't like the idea of lingerie?  Let's do a sexy power suit or WHATEVER you feel your best in! All sessions include an extensive consultation so that we get the exact vision!

I get a lot of " I don't know how to pose"  Sis - that is MY JOB!  As a professional photographer you can trust that I will pose you and give you all of the direction that you need!

Getting ready for your boudoir session and not sure what to wear? Believe me. It?s easier than you think. There are countless ways to feel sexy! If you are feeling overwhelmed by options, here’s a beginner’s guide on what to wear to a boudoir photography session. So suit up and get ready to be your best and most sensual self!

I know that this wardrobe and outfit thing can be overwhelming. Looking good should appear effortless – when, in fact, it’s often not. It took me a long time to realize that certain cuts and drapes and colors did not look good on me. And others looked pretty amazing. And when I have something on my body that looks and FEELS amazing – this confidence kicks in and it?s fire.??

Do you know what I mean? The things that you wear and feel instantly amazing in?? When you catch a sideways glance at yourself in the mirror and do a double-take?? Those are the things we want you to bring with you for your boudoir session – that?s what helps you channel your most sensual self and that is what gets you ready to fully embody the best version of yourself.?

YOUR GUIDE ON WHAT TO WEAR FOR A BOUDOIR PHOTOSHOOT

The number one thing to remember about the wardrobe. Fit is everything. You will want to make sure the pieces you bring in fit you well – supporting and revealing. Check to make sure the pieces you choose aren't too large with lots of excess fabric and that they aren?t too small and restrictive. Your wardrobe should hug curves the right way – not cut into your body and make it hard to move.?

Want to show off or accentuate your body??Choose pieces that are cut to highlight your favorite physical features.

If you love your chest, choose a lower cut or asymmetrical neckline for drama.?

If you are totally diggin? your back, choose something backless or that has a dramatic low back.

If you are all about those shoulders, that’s where the racer backs and halters come in.?

Stomach your best asset? Pick a few pairs of low-cut underwear to properly frame and flaunt it.

Want the illusion of little more length? A high-cut panty or bodysuit will draw the eye up, creating the illusion of longer legs.

Tall? Embrace it!? A classic bra, panties, garter belt, and thigh-high stocking ensemble keeps our attention on the length of your legs.

Curves for days?? Lucky you. Bodysuits are some of our absolute favorite type of outfit to photograph! Why? They are form-fitting, hug your body and they look amazing on everybody!? ? And there are styles and cuts for every aesthetic.? You can also keep those curves coming with a retro slip cut on the bias or a high waisted garter belt or panty!?

Want some fun ideas on how to make it a little more interesting and fun?? Try layering. For a classic look, add a garter belt or a pair of thigh highs to a basic bra and panty set. You can add a peignoir, robe or a sheer shirt.

WHAT TO PACK FOR YOUR BOUDOIR SESSION?

Now that you know what you are looking for – it’s time to shop your closet! Have fun pulling things from the bottom of your drawers and the back of your closet.? Try everything on. You may be surprised by what you already have. Then, it’s time to edit.

Fit is everything (see above). Carefully cut the tags out of anything that's coming with you and that might show through the fabric. The day before your shoot layout what you are thinking about wearing. Edit again to only bring things that you feel great in – fabrics that feel good on your skin and that you feel confident in.?

When you arrive for your boudoir session, we'll go over your options and choose the looks together.?

So, you've got a bag full of things you love? How do you put them together into an outfit? Keep things simple.? Pick a color story for each look. Think in layers – what can you either add or take off to give variety to each look? If you have accessories, we will use them to complete each look.?

Sometimes a look is only one piece. Sometimes its several. We will help you sort and organize each boudoir photo outfit for your session.?
